As is tradition since 2016, I embarked on my annual photography trip to capture the magic of autumn and fall in Colorado. This year, I was forced to break my trip into parts due to some work obligations teaching for Muench Workshops, which actually offered me a way to see Colorado fall color in two distinct phases of transition. I focused my attention this year on three areas of Colorado - Red Mountain Pass between Ouray and Silverton, Kebler Pass near Crested Butte and Paonia, and the mountains near Mancos, Colorado. These are three very different ecosystems and presentations of fall color which provided me with a wonderful variety of scenes and subjects to experiment with. I did a lot of exploration and failed a lot this year, but I figure if you're not taking risks, there's nothing to gain. I hope you enjoy this year's collection of fall color.
