Veins of Geologic Color (2022)

Death Valley National Park

Exploring the badlands in Death Valley National Park is one of the most fun things I have done as a photographer in a long time. Hiking up and through this geologic freak show of a scene provided my imagination with a lot to chew on as a landscape photographer. I wanted to find a way to balance the composition between the pink vein of rock flowing upper left to lower right and the vibrant and beautiful sky above, which certainly proved to be quite a challenge!
