San Juan Mountains
Included search variations: San Juan Mountains, San Juans
The San Juan Mountains are hands-down the most impressive mountains in Colorado, and potentially the most impressive in the continental United States (some may argue the Wind River Range can compete). The San Juans span approximately 6,000 square miles in the southwestern portion of Colorado and contain several sub-ranges, including the Grenadier Range, Needle Mountains, West Needle Mountains, La Garita Mountains and the La Plata Mountains. The San Juans are home to some of the most rugged and breathtaking mountains in North America and offer several incredible photographic opportunities.
In 2021, I co-authored and published a mountain climbing guide to the San Juan Mountains with Bob Rosebrough, and many of my photographs were used in the making of that book.
The San Juan Mountains are home to some of my absolute favorite photographic subjects, including Mount Sneffels, Vestal Peak, Arrow Peak, Uncompahgre Peak, Wetterhorn Peak, Sunlight Peak, Windom Peak, Mount Eolus, Jagged Mountain, and Rio Grande Pyramid.
Below you will find a collection to all of my photographs I've taken in the San Juan Mountains - enjoy!
